Aloo Tikki Or Green pea potato patties-Popular North Indian style Recipe


Aloo tikki is a North Indian snack made of boiled potatoes,green peas and various spices. "Aloo" means potato, and the word "tikki" means a small cutlet. It is found in almost every chaat shop or stall in Delhi as well as in other parts of India. It is served hot along with tamarind and coriander-mint chutney (sauce), known as Hari chutney, and sometimes yogurt or chick peas.

Today i will show you how to make this delicious aloo tikki or green pea potato patties.

Ingredients:
Boiled potato          2 medium size
Boiled green peas   1/2 cup
Coriander leaves      1 spoon
Bread crumbs          1-2 spoon
Salt to taste
Cumin seeds           1/4 spoon
Green chilli              1 chopped
Red chilli powder      1/4 spoon
Oil                           1 spoon
Salt                         1/4 spoon
Coriander chutney
Sweet and sour Tamarind chutney
Sweet and sour Yogurt

Method:
First in a pan take 1 spoon vegetable oil.Now add cumin seeds into the oil.Next add boiled green peas, turmeric powder,green chilli , coriander powder and salt.Mix it and let cook for 2-3 minutes.After 2-3 minutes it will be done and let it cool.Now make the potato balls. For that mix the salt and bread crumbs into the boiled potato and mix it well.Now take a small portion of potato and make it round balls.After all the balls are ready next put the green peas mixture into the potato balls.Take one ball and press it with your pumps and put 1 spoon of green peas mixture and close the balls from all around.Now make the ball flat with your pumps and set aside.Now in a pane put the flat aloo tikkis and put some oil into the top and let it cook until it looks golden brown.Once it is done remove from the hot pan.After that place it into your serving plate and  serve with coriander chutney ,sweet and sour tamarind chutney or yogurt. Yummy yummy tasty tasty aloo tikkis are ready to serve.Enjoy...
